Description
Purpose of the solenoid valve for Schmalz vacuum consoles
Solenoid valve VCMV 13.9 × 13 used as a passive valve in all Schmalz vacuum consoles (beams) since 2003.
These vacuum consoles(beams) are used in machining centers of many manufacturers such as:
- Homag / Weeke
- Ima
- Masterwood
- Felder
- HolzHer
- Busellato
- SCM / Morbidelli and many others.
After the vacuum block has been placed on the console (traverse) above the valve, the valve switches on the vacuum supply to the vacuum block (vacuum pad).
Damage to the valve seal or contamination of the valve seat leads to leaks and is one of the most common causes of leaks in vacuum systems in CNC machining centers.
When replacing the valve, a filter sieve must also be also purchased – see below
Structure of the solenoid valve for Schmalz consoles
The valve consists of a neodymium magnet in a plastic housing.
There is a rubber O-ring on the lower, thinner part of the valve
The valve rises and falls after a vacuum block (vacuum pad) for the K1 or K2 system has been placed above it on the console.
The valve is an original Schmalz product.

Correct exchange of the solenoid valves in Schmalz vacuum consoles
In order to replace the valve, the filter sieve has to be pierced and removed from its seat, for example with a screwdriver.
Then put a screwdriver over the hole – the force of the magnet lifts the valve over the seat.
When replacing a valve, the purchase of new filter sieve must be taken into account.
The package contains 25 valves.
